Superstition-driven Murder Uncovered by Ranchi Police; Two Arrested in Chilling Crime

Ranchi Police solve a chilling murder case fueled by superstition. Two locals arrested in connection with the axe attack on a 65-year-old man.

RANCHI – Ranchi Police have disclosed the gruesome details of the murder of Durgacharan Munda, which occurred recently in the Jahir Tikar area, under Tamar police station in the subdivision.

The suspects, Kartik Munda, a resident of Zahirtikar, and Surendra Munda from Murlidih, have been apprehended and jailed in connection with the murder. Ranchi Rural SP Naushad Alam, during a press conference, revealed that the murder was a result of blind superstition.

Kartik Munda, a tuberculosis patient, had sought advice from a tantrik who blamed Durgacharan Munda for Kartik’s troubles. Consequently, Kartik, along with Surendra, planned and executed the brutal attack on Durgacharan Munda.

The attack occurred outside the village, where the elderly man was struck by an axe, leading to his immediate death. His blood-soaked body was later discovered in a field near Zahirtikar.

The deceased’s son, Karamchandra Munda, alerted the police when his father did not return home after visiting the Punjab National Bank to collect his pension.

Karamchandra found his father’s body about 500 meters from the village, which led him to file an FIR against unknown assailants at the Tamar police station.
