Tata Power, one of India’s leading EV charging solutions providers, collaborates with Ranchi Airport Authority to install two public 30 Kw EV chargers at Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi.

RANCHI – In a move to boost electric vehicle (EV) adoption in India, Tata Power, one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing EV charging solution providers, has partnered with the Ranchi Airport Authority (RAA) to install two 30 Kw public chargers at the Birsa Munda Airport, Ranchi.

This initiative aligns with Tata Power’s dedication to promote EV adoption across the nation. It supports the government’s National Electric Mobility Mission Plan (NEMMP), a scheme aimed at accelerating the electrification of private and public vehicles by building the necessary infrastructure.

The installed Level-1 chargers, more suited to EV owners who visit the airport, provide a lower charging rate, between 2.3kW and 2.5kW, using standard household electrical outlets to power the EVs.

We are incredibly proud to engage with the Ranchi Airport Authority to install EV chargers,” said Mr. Virendra Goyal, Head Business Development-EV Charging, Tata Power. “This move aligns with our commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon footprints. Moreover, it is set to address the range anxiety amongst potential and existing EV owners in the city.”

Mr. K.L Aggarwal, Airport Director, Birsa Munda Airport -Ranchi, commented on the collaboration, stating, “With this initial installation of EV chargers, we aim to serve numerous EV operators and families in Ranchi. Now they can conveniently charge their vehicle from a trusted source while waiting at the airport.”

Tata Power’s extensive network comprises over 3778 public and captive EV chargers spread across 350 towns and cities, including shopping malls, major highways, and metro stations, among others. With 39,000+ home chargers and 234 bus-charging points, Tata Power is committed to providing EV charging solutions across the country. They have also partnered with various real estate developers to achieve the government’s target of a 30% EV adoption by 2030.
