Manpita villagers halt land measurement for a government scheme, demand information and consultation with Gram Sabha before proceeding.
Jamshedpur: In Manpita village, located in Govindpur area of Jamshedpur, villagers have protested against the measurement of land for a government scheme without the permission of the Gram Sabha.
The villagers demonstrated under the leadership of the Gram Sabha.
They claimed that the land was being measured without the Gram Sabha’s consent.
When villagers sought information about the scheme, they were denied access to it.
Consequently, the villagers stopped the measurement work.
On Monday, the villagers protested in front of the district headquarters.
They stated that they would not allow work at the site until they are informed about the scheme and the matter is discussed with the Gram Sabha.
