Armed criminal flees after failed robbery in Adityapur RIT police station area; residents alarmed. Police seize pistol & motorcycle, investigating case.
Jamshedpur: A criminal fled leaving his bike and pistol behind after making an unsuccessful bid to threaten a young man and a woman in Adityapur RIT Police Station area Saturday night.
The incident caused a sensation in the area.
According to information received the incident happened in the Bantanagar-Baba Kuti neighborhood under the jurisdiction of the RIT police station after an armed criminal attempted to rob a young man and woman returning from work.

The young man, identified as Ashok Kumar, resisted the attacker, causing the criminal to flee the scene, leaving behind a Pulsar motorcycle with the license plate number JH05CM-3153.
The assailant also discarded his pistol while making his escape.
In response to the incident, a large number of local residents came together to inform the RIT police station. Officers from the station quickly arrived at the scene, seizing the abandoned pistol and motorcycle for further investigation.
Ashok Kumar, who runs a clinic in Sonari, reported that he and his female colleague, Manjari Das Gupta, were returning home after closing the clinic when the incident occurred. He added that he was talking on his mobile phone when the criminal, riding the Pulsar motorcycle, approached them and began to verbally abuse them.

Upon protest, the criminal pointed the pistol at the pair, but fled when Kumar retaliated.
SI Sujit Singh of the RIT police station confirmed that the pistol and motorcycle have been recovered, and efforts are being made to identify the culprit.
The investigation is currently being conducted based on the account provided by the young man.
In the aftermath of the incident, there was a palpable sense of resentment among the residents of the colony, who are concerned for their safety in the area.
