NIT Jamshedpur: 45 Students and 4 Teachers from Andaman and Nicobar Islands Visit Jharkhand on Cultural Exchange Program

45 students & 4 teachers from Andaman & Nicobar Islands visit Jharkhand for a cultural exchange under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam

Jamshedpur: A group of 45 students from various institutions of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, accompanied by four teachers, are currently visiting Jharkhand as part of the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Yuva Sangam cultural exchange program.

The program is being jointly conducted by Dr. B R Ambedkar Institute of Technology of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and NIT Jamshedpur of Jharkhand.

The visiting teachers include Dr. K. Venkatesan, Dr. Diana Joshlin, Mrs. Jaya Prabha Bhattacharya, and Dr. Amrita Verma.

Today marks the fourth day of the six-day tour program. The students began their day by visiting Seva Gram Kera, an adopted village under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, and the Birsa Project run by Ekal Abhiyan.

The group was welcomed in Kera by local representatives Pramod Mohapatra, Paresh Mandal, and Dasaratha Pradhan.

The students and teachers met with the villagers of Kera, learning about their lives and culture while also sharing their own experiences.

The cultural exchange continued at a center run by Sankalp in Kera, where the children interacted with students from Andaman, and both groups sang songs together.

After visiting Kera, the students visited the holy and popular temple of Bhagwati Mata of Kera. They then proceeded to Karanjo Ekal Abhiyan project, where they observed training programs related to women empowerment, computer literacy, and agricultural work.

During their visit, they also saw a turmeric processing plant and were impressed by a computer lab set up in a bus, which imparts training by traveling from village to village.

The Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat program aims to foster mutual understanding among students from different States/UTs on various aspects such as culture, social traditions, music, tourism, food, sports, and sharing of best practices.

At the end of the day’s program, representatives from Ekal Abhiyan, Bajrang Lal Chiraniya, Rakesh Dodrajka, Aditya Pratap Mahato, and Ashish, felicitated the teachers from Andaman and NIT.

Present at the event were Dr. Lalan Sharma, All India Coordinator of Ekal Abhiyan, faculty from Andaman and Nicobar, children of Ekal Abhiyan, Deputy Director of the Institute Dr. Ram Vinay Sharma, Senior Professor Dr. HL Yadav, Senior Professor of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, along with the villagers of Kera, adopted by National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur.

Regional Coordinator Dr. Ranjit Prasad, Member Dr. Sailesh Jha, and Project Assistants Anurudh Kumar and Prabhat Kumar were also in attendance.
