People Residing Around Site Evacuated as Bulldozers Clear Encroachments
JAMSHEDPUR – The district administration took action on Saturday to shift the Imambara of Shastri Nagar under the jurisdiction of the Kadma police station in Jamshedpur.
The move is part of a road widening project that necessitates the removal of the Imambara and the evacuation of people living in its vicinity.
Despite receiving prior notice from the district administration, many residents had remained steadfast in their refusal to vacate the area.
Ultimately, the issue was settled and the administration deployed bulldozers to demolish the structures surrounding the site, clearing the way for the planned infrastructure improvements.
The road widening project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve overall accessibility in the Shastri Nagar area.
A local resident residing nearby said that Tata Steel has demarcated the entire area and intends to use it for its own projects.
Although saddened by the relocation of the Imambara, the resident conceded that the decision was inevitable under the circumstances.
Locals said that Abdul Hameed is the license holder of the arena, which, along with the Imambara, has been in existence for 40 years.
