Adityapur police launch drive against traffic rule violators to curb road accidents

Adityapur: After spreading awareness, the Seraikela police have now decided to go into an action mode to prevent the rise in road accidents in the district.

All police stations of Seraikela district have increased their efforts to prevent accidents and rash driving on roads.

The number of road accidents has seen an uptick in recent times in the district. Several people have lost their lives due to road accidents.

Responding to the rise in the number of road accidents, the Seraikela police have launched a special drive to prevent accidents and increase road safety.

Students were instructed on road safety in every police station area as per the directives of the state’s DGP and Seraikela SP.

The police have since enhanced their level of vigilance on the roads.

The Seraikela district’s Adityapur police station in-charge and his team carried out a comprehensive vehicle inspection drive on the highways and crossings on Sunday.

They took action against drivers who flouted traffic rules, breached the requirements for vehicle documentation, and were caught driving while intoxicated.

The Adityapur officer in-charge, Rajan Kumar, said that accidents are happening because of people’s ignorance.

He said that the people were informed about the importance of road safety during Road Safety Week, and now severe action is being taken against those who are flouting traffic rules.

He made it quite clear that people who drive after drinking and were found flouting traffic rules will not escape punishment.

He advised everyone to abide by traffic rules.
