Bike-borne criminals loot Rs. 9 lakh from electricity bill collection agent in Sidhgora

Jamshedpur: Two motorcycle-borne criminals looted Rs. 9 lakh in cash from a collection agent of the Electricity Department near Road No. 16 in Sidgora. Both criminals escaped easily after looting the money.

The incident caused quite a sensation in the area as the police too arrived at the site soon.

The police have launched their investigation into the incident soon after arriving at the place.

The employees of the electricity department gave the police information and details about the incident.

According to information received, a Mango resident, Jitendra Patro, works as a contract worker collection agent for the Electricity Department. He was going to deposit about nine lakh rupees in the Bank of India branch at Golmuri on his scooter.

When Jitendra Patro reached near Road No. 16, two bike-borne criminals hit his scooter from behind. He fell down as a result and was hurt. The thieves grabbed the bag full of cash kept in the dickey and decamped with ease.

The injured collection agent, on the other hand, has been taken to the hospital.

The electricity department officers also arrived at the site.

The police are currently investigating the incident.

No one has been apprehended in this connection yet.
