69 Girls leave for Hosur, Tamil Nadu to join work in Tata Electronics

Jamshedpur: On the initiative of the Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, 69 select tribal girls from Saraikela Kharsawan were sent off by train from Tatanagar to Bangalore on Friday evening to join work in Tata Electronics Limited in Hosur.

These girls have been selected to work for Tata Electronics Limited, Hosur (Tamil Nadu). Hosur is an industrial township situated 40 kms off Bengaluru, although the township itself is in Tamil Nadu adjacent to the borders of Karnataka.

The Union Minister of Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda said that he had talked to the top-placed officials of Tata Group with the aim of giving employment to the girls of the tribal communities of Seraikela Kharsawan, Chaibasa, Khunti, Tamar and Simdega.

He said that after this, the company took special interest and selected the girls by organizing recruitment camps in Seraikela, Chaibasa, Khunti and Simdega.

In the first tranche, approximately 800 girls have left for Hosur from Hatia station by special train on 27 Sept.

Mr. Munda said that this is a great initiative of the Tata group for the tribal community.

Tata Electronics will give employment to these girls along with skill development. Most girls have passed intermediate.

The company will give jobs to these girls after giving training for one year.

During the training, they will be provided with the necessary facilities by the company, Mr. Munda added.
