Women sanitation workers not paid wages for 3 months, disengaged too

Women sanitation workers working for JNAC have not been paid wages for the last 3 months and have also been disengaged from work. They reached JMM Office and asked to intervene.

Jamshedpur: The women sanitation workers working for JNAC have complained of not getting wages for the last 3 months. They also alleged that they have been sacked from the work. They reached JMM Contact office and urged JMM leader Rajesh Samant to ensure justice to them.

Rajesh Samant spoke to the officials and asked them to ensure that the wages are paid to them as soon as possible.

One woman sanitation worker S Bharati said that they used to work at Chhath Ghat of Burmamines for JNAC. All the women sanitation workers hold job cards. However, JNAC has not paid their wages for the last 3 months. On Wednesday they were also asked to sit out from work.

She said that they used to get Rs. 355/- per day as wages. All sanitation workers are poor. She said that while they have been disengaged from work, they are also not being paid the pending wages for 3 months.

About 20 women sanitation workers reached JMM office and sought intervention from the party leaders.
