Police crack Bagbera firing case, 5 arrested

City police have arrested 5 persons in connection with Bagbera firing case with one revolver and 3 cartridges.

Jamshedpur: The city police have cracked the case relating to firing at VHP leader Bablu Kumar Singh in which the latter sustained bullet injuries. The incident had occurred near Railway Running Room under the jurisdiction of Bagbera Police.

Addressing a press conference at Bistupur police station, the City SP Subhash Chandra Jat said that the police arrested five persons involved in the firing incident.

He said that a pistol, three live cartridges and a shell were recovered based on the statements made by the accused.

He said that the arrested accused have confessed to the crime in their confession statement.

After interrogation, all the accused were sent to judicial custody.

He said that those who have been arrested include P Ghosh, a resident of Bagbera Sanjay Nagar Talab Basti, V Kumar, a resident of Bagbera Gandhinagar Near Shakha Ground, R Rajbhar, a resident of Railway Traffic Colony, K Sharma of Ulidih Sankosai Road No. 1, and Burmamines Railway Carriage Colony resident B Upadhyay.

Revealing the entire sequence of events, the City SP Subhash Chandra Jat said that there was a dispute between G Giri and M Sonu, an aide of B Singh, over occupation of an encroached land in Bagbera.

He said that G Giri wanted to take possession of the land. There was a dispute between the two factions over land.

Meanwhile, in the course of a heated discussion, bullets were fired.

The arrested accused told the police about the whereabouts of the weapon used in the firing, after which the weapon was recovered.

The firing had taken place on September 9 last.

At present, VHP leader Bablu Singh is undergoing treatment at TMH.

Meanwhile, the police have sent the five accused to judicial custody.
