Jharkhand CM announces Rs. 50 lakh to hockey players Nikki Pradhan and Salima Tete, pucca house too

Ranchi: All players of women’s hockey team from Jharkhand that participated in Tokyo Olympics would be given Rs. 50 lakh each. Apart from this, their ancestral houses will also be rebuilt and makde ‘pucca’.

This was announced by the Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren on Friday.

In a tweet on Friday, the Chief Minister said that although the Indian women’s hockey team could not win bronze medal. However, the women players from Jharkhand came out with superb performance.

He said that the government would give Rs. 50 lakh to each player and would also ensure that their ancestral houses are turned into pucca houses.

A few days back, the Chief Minister had presented an award of Rs. 5 lakh to the archer Deepika Kumari, who was participating in the Tokyo Olympics, and hockey players Ms. Nikki Pradhan and Ms. Salima Tete.

As these players were not available, their family members had received the cash award on their behalf.

Apart from this, Rs. 3 lakh was given to Ajay Raj, who represented the country in the Bokia sport of Para Olympics.

12 players were given appointment letters for different posts in the Home Department.
