Kunal Sarangi meets bereaving family, blames negligence for mother-baby death

Jamshedpur: The State Spokesman of BJP Kunal Sarangi today met Bimal Mukhi and his family and condoled the death of his wife and newborn baby. He also spoke to the health department officials and urged them to take action against those who are found responsible for the untimely demise of his wife and newborn baby.

Kunal Sarangi visited the house of deceased Guddi Mukhi at Bhalubasa.

Speaking to the family, he expressed grief and termed the the incident as extremely unfortunate.

He also spoke to the departmental officers and demanded immediate action against those who are found responsible for the death of mother-baby.

He said that the incident was a result of complete negligence on the part of hospital.

Consoling the deceased’s husband Bimal Mukhi, he said that BJP is with the victim’s family. He said that his party will extend all possible help in ensuring justice to the family.

Wife and baby of Bimal Mukhi of Bhalubasa Harijan Basti had died during delivery in the gynaecological ward of MGM College & Hospital on Monday.

Angered residents of Bhalubasa Harijan Basti alleged that the mother and baby died due to negligence of the hospital and created a ruckus on the premises.

They also stopped the car of the Superintendent and held a demonstration against the alleged negligence.

Later, Bimal Mukhi had said that he brought his pregnant wife at 3 a.m. in the hospital and got her admitted. He said that the doctor asked her to bring in blood for transfusion, which he did.

He said that despite his arranging blood for transfusion, it was not transfused immediately for some reason and the nurse said that it would be done later.

However, he said, he was asked to make her walk, which he did. However, during walking, she started vomiting.

Bimal Mukhi had blamed the hospital for the untimely death of his wife and baby during delivery at 5 a.m.
