Co-Operative Law College students go on indefinite hunger strike for promotion to next semester

Jamshedpur: The students of Jamshedpur Co-operative Law College have started indefinite hunger strike demanding promotion to next semester. They are pressing for automatic promotion to next semester keeping in mind the closure of college due to corona pandemic.

Corona pandemic has impacted all areas, including studies. Most of the educational institutions have been impacted.

Keeping in mind the situation caused by the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, the law students of 2019-22 batch have now gone on hunger strike demanding promotion to next semester.

The students are saying that the pandemic has endangered their career adversely.

The students say that the university should consider their demand for automatic promotion with sympathy keeping in mind the situation caused by the pandemic.

They warned that if the university does not treat their case sympathetically, then they would intensify their agitation.

A student Sujita Tiwari said that their parents have invested in their studies by making a lot of sacrifice and wasting 2 years of their career would amount to gross injustice to them.

She said that the students would continue their hunger strike, till the university responds positively to their demand.
