MLA Saryu Rai Too Visits MGM Hospital, Demands Steps for Improvement

Jamshedpur: A day after the Principal Secretary of the Health department Arun Kumar Singh inspected and expressed dissatisfaction at the condition fo MGM Hospital, Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy too has expressed deep dismay at the state of affairs in the hospital.

Saryu Roy, MLA of Jamshedpur East, also inspected the entire hospital premises on Tuesday and took stock of the situation.

He also raised questions over the inspection of the Principal Secretary Arun Kumar Singh and said that whatever was decided under the chairmanship of Chief Minister and the Principal Secretary have not been implemented yet.

He said that the condition of the hospital is not satisfactory.

He said that the administrative officers only complete formalities in the name of inspection and nothing improves.

He said that MGM Hospital has become a state-level hospital, but the improvement is not visible in any way.

While the hospital looks fine from outside, it is hollow from inside.

He said that there is a need to take radical decisions for improvement in the hospital.

He said that the budget of the hospital needs to be monitored too.

During the inspection, Saryu Rai questioned the presence of Health Minister’s representative too.

He said that no government hospital should have such a system.

He also visited the prisoners’ ward of MGM Hospital and expressed deep dissatisfaction at the condition of the ward. He said that the ward is okay from outside but the condition inside remains very pathetic.

At the same time, the MLA talked about shifting the some of the old and dilapidated wards in the new building.

He said that if the boundary wall is broken then the pigs will surely enter the hospital.
