Gadra panchayat villagers discuss household waste collection

Jamshedpur: Villagers of Upar Tola and Bihari Tola in North East Gadra panchayat under Jugsalai Assembly segment of East Singhbhum district held a meeting on Thursday to discuss solid waste management in the area.

More than a hundred villagers attended the meeting.

The villagers discussed different aspects of solid waste management and necessity of waste disposal for avoiding infectious diseases.

A decision was taken to put up dust bins in around 150 households so that waste could be collected easily from each house.

Waste lifting is being done in around 400 houses in Gadra panchayat smoothly.

Now villagers of other areas too want the facility to be extended to their areas.

Those who took part in the discussion included mukhiya Meera Hembram, Birju Patro and Bablu Kumar. Manish Pandey, Ramnath Das, Dasrath Sahu, Sunil Singh, Bhagwan Pandey, Rajan Mishra, Tony, Sudhir, A Mandal, Akhilesh Singh, Santosh Pandit, Sathendra Singh, Bipin Kumar, S Sharma, Santosh Thakur were also present in the meeting.
