Persons of third gender celebrate Mangala Puja in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: A large number of kinnars or people of third gender today celebrated Mangala Puja with full religiosity and joy.

Although, religious functions and assemblies are disallowed by the government due to Corona lockdown restrictions, traditional religious rituals are being carried out in symbolic manner and by complying with social distancing norms.

A large number of kinnars or people of third gender of the city today celebrated traditional Mangala Puja.

Mangala Devi is believed to be an incaranation of Maan Kali and people of third gender worship her with religiosity and joy.

A number of Kinnars reached Swanrekha river ghat in Jamshedpur and by taking water in an earthen pot completed the rituals of Mangala Puja.

Later, they told Town Post that they would worship Maan Mangala at night and would pray to her for the welfare of entire society and the world.

Nandini Kinnar told Town Post that they have to go through a tough penance to complete this Mangala Puja, yet they do it because this puja brings them solace and blessings of the Devi.
