Inter-district buses from September 1, detailed guidelines issued

Ranchi: After granting permission for operating inter-district buses in the state from September 1, 2020, the state government has issued detailed guidelines for bus operation in the state.

All bus operators would have to comply with these guidelines. The guidelines would be strictly enforced so that operation of buses does not cause spread of Covid-19 infections.

The Chief Minister Hemant Soren too has appealed to everyone to comply with the guidelines so that the infections could be kept under control.

The guidelines have the following highlights:

  • Anyone who has tested would have no permission to travel
  • Buses will operate only on permitted route
  • Buses will stop only at pre-determined stops as per permit
  • Violation would attract action under DMA and MVA
  • Passengers would necessarily wear mask and face cover
  • Drivers and conductors too would wear mask or face cover
  • No tobacco or spitting would be allowed
  • Arogya Setu app would need to be installed
  • Buses must have santisers
  • Buses with 52 seats would seat only 26 passengers
  • Buses with 48 seats would have only 24 passengers
  • Buses or cabs too would only have half passengers compared with capacity
  • Record of passengers must be kept
  • Driver cabin must have curtains
