Jharkhand Govt extends lockdown restrictions till August 31

No Unlock-3 in Jharkhand, permitted economic activities to continue

Ranchi: The Jharkhand government has extended the lockdown restrictions currently in place outside the containment zones up to August 31, 2020.

The Chief Secretary of the government, Sukhdev Singh, has also issued directions to all the departments of Government of Jharkhand and all the district administrations for the strict implementation of guidelines and state directives as annexed in addition to the directions communicated vide order dated July 29, 2020 of Ministry of Home Affairs of Jharkhand.

National Disaster Management Authority has directed teh Union Home Secretary to issue an order to extend the lockdown in containment zones upto 31.08.2020 and to re-open more activities in areas outside containment zones. Pursuant to this, the Home Secretary and chairman of National Executive Committee has issued an order on July 29 for phased re-opening (unlock 3) which would remain in force up to 31.8.2020.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren, himself made it clear that the unlock situation in the state would continue to be till August 31 as it is now.

However, Jharkhand government feels that there is a need to take al cautious approach while implementing the relaxations granted by Ministry of Home Affairs of Government of India vide its various orders.

Thus not all relaxations granted by the Government of India to date have been implemented in the state. AT the same time the number of Covid-19 positive cases continues to rise.

Therefore, the state government has decided to continue the lockdown related restrictions till August 31, 2020.

However, all economic activities permitted prior to this order shall remain permitted.

This order comes into force on August 1, 2020.
