Covid-19 takes 7th life in Jamshedpur on Friday, Golmuri resident succumbs to Covid-19

16 new Covid-19 positive cases in city, total now 762


Jamshedpur: Covid-19 has taken 7th life in Jamshedpur. A 58-year-old resident of Golmuri Muslim Bustee died of Corona Friday in TMH. He had no travel history.

According to official sources, the deceased was admitted in TMH with complaints of breathing problems. On July 12 he tested positive for Corona.

The patient was struggling with breathing problems and despite all efforts of the doctors, the person succumbed to the disease.

The person had given his samples twice and he was found positive both the times.

He has had no travel history.

With this the number of deaths due to Corona has increased to 7.

Meanwhile, 16 more Covid-19 positive cases were identified in Jamshedpur on Friday. This took the total number of infections in the city to 762.

The total number of cases in neighbouring West Singhbhum district is 136, while that of Seraikela Kharsawan district is 110.

One police jawan posted at Police Lines, Golmuri too has been found Covid positive.

Meanwhile 28 persons have been cured and discharged from hospitals in the city on Friday.

According to information with the health department, in all 16 new Covid-19 patients have been identified. Out of these, one has a travel history to Chennai, while four others have a travel history to Bihar. All the infected are residents of Jamshedpur city itself.

The newly identified patients are being admitted in the Covid wards of the two hospitals of the cit.

The district administration has appealed to the citizens to continue maintaining social distance and keep cleaning their hands.
