Jamshedpur police arrest active member of Maoist Ashim Mandal squad

Jamshedpur: Jamshedpur police have arrested Piyun Birhor alias Manik Birhor, a hardcore and active member of Maoist Akash alias Asiam Mandal Squad from MGM Police station area. He was hiding in the area.

The SSP of Jamshedpur received intelligence about presence of this Maoist in the area and a team was formed to arrest him under the leadership of ASP.

The team carried out raids and was successful in arresting Piyun Birhor from the village Chhotabank. Piyun Birhor is a resident of Bhadua police station area in Ghatsila block.

Piyun Birhor is a named accused in four cases under Arms Act and under different sections of IPC.

Those who were a part of the raiding team included Gulshan Tirkey, ASP, Vijay Kumar Mahato, DSP, Patamda, Arvind Kumar, Officer in-charge, MGM, Vishnu Raut, Officer in charge, Azadnagar, Virendra Kumar Rajwanshi, inspector, Patamda and R K Singh, ASI, MGM.
