Covid-19 causes 4 deaths on sad Saturday in Jharkhand, total death tally now 19

36 new positive cases take total infected tally to 2739, active cases 686

Ranchi: Saturday saw four deaths due to Covid-19 in the state. Two patients died in RIMS, while two died in TMH, Jamshedpur.

According to sources, two patients died in RIMS on Saturday. One was a man from Khunti, while the other person was a woman from Sahibganj.

On the other hand, a 71-year-old man and an 88-year-old woman succumbed to Covid-related complications in TMH, Jamshedpur. Both had co-morbidities.

These four deaths on a single day take the total death tally to 19 in the state.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, 36 new positive cases were detected in the state. This takes the tally of infection cases to 2739 in the state. However, only 686 cases are still active. Others have either been cured and discharged or have succumbed.

On Saturday, the maximum 13 new cases were found in East Singhbhum. Six are from Ranchi, four from Dhanbad, three from Palamu, two each from Deoghar, Hazaribagh and Seraikela, while one each from Bokaro , Giridih, Lohardaga and Pakur.

Meanwhile, 34 persons were also cured and discharged from different hospitals.
