Two Arrested With Fake Currency Notes in Lohardaga

Lohardaga: Police have arrested two persons here near Kudu Masjid Chowk in Lohardagga for dealing in counterfeit notes. They were arrested on a tip-off.

According to police sources, the two persons face the charges of cheating and dealing in counterfeit notes.

Confirming the arrests, the SP of Lohardaga, Priyanka Meena, said that both the accused are being interrogated in Kudu police station.

The SP said that the two accused were trying to cheat a businessman of Senha by promising him to give counterfeit notes worth Rs. three lakh in exchange of Rs. one lakh real notes. The police were tipped-off about this and they created an elaborate trap for nabbing them.

Police have also recovered several bundles of counterfeit notes from their possession.
