21 new Corona positive cases in East Singhbhum, total now 269

Jamshedpur: 21 new Corona positive cases have been confirmed in East Singhbhum district (Jamshedpur). This takes the total infections in the district to 269.

Those who were identified as positive today have a travel history. One had come from Gujarat, one from Vijaywada, 2 from Tamil Nadu, 2 from Qatar, one from Gurugram, two from Mumbai, two from Kolkata, one from Gopalganj, one from Patna, two from Delhi and two from Orissa.

All of these fresh cases were already quarantined at different centres.

The district civil surgeon Dr. Maheshwar Prasad confirmed that 21 new patients have been found. He said that all have had travel history. Their samples were tested in MGMCH and TMH labs.

Out of those who have been found infected one belongs to Dumaria, one to Musabani, one is from Dhalbhumgarh, two from Baharagora, three from Mango, one from Ghorabandha, two from Golmuri, one from Kadma, two from Sonari, one from Birsanagar, one from Sakchi, one from Agrico, one from Sindhu Road, one from quarantine centre, one from Parsudih and one from Simdega.

All these new cases are being admitted in the Covid wards.

The district administration has appealed to everyone to continue to comply with social norms and remain safe by staying inside and taking all precautions.

Meanwhile, the administration has decided to be strict with those who do not self-declare their travel history. The administration has found that those migrating from other states are not revealing their travel history and this is causing immense problems in containing the spread of the disease.

Those who reveal their travel history are either kept under institutional quarantine or home quarantine under observation. This has worked well in the district for now. But there are many who do not reveal their travel history. Strict action would be taken against them, sources said.
