1500 workers from Dumka to leave tomorrow to join Border Road Organization work

RanchI: The laborers of Jharkhand are fully prepared to contribute to the country’s interest and development. Tomorrow, on June 12, about 1,500 workers will leave from Dumka on special train to join the road construction work in the border areas under the aegis of Border Road Organization (BRO).

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren will be present to flag off the special train carrying workers. In this regard, Shri Anil Kumar, Additional Director General of Police of Border Road Organization had a courtesy meeting with the Chief Minister Shri Hemant Soren in Project building. He outlined the activities of BRO to the Chief Minister.

An agreement will be signed between the BRO officials and the District Administration before the workers leave from Dumka district by special train. Shri Anil Kumar informed that permission has been sought from the Ministry of Defence to make an MoU between BRO and Jharkhand Labor Department. After approval of the Ministry of Defence, the process of MoU will be completed so that the Labor Department can provide proper support to the Border Road Organization in this work and there is no violation of labor laws.

The Chief Minister said that the provisions of labor laws should be followed during the recruitment of workers. Full transparency should be exercised in their appointment and there should be no role of middlemen in this process.The intetest of the laborers must be taken care of.

The Chief Minister said that the workers of the state of Jharkhand should be ensured timely remittance of wages to their bank account every month under the provisions of labor laws. Since these workers or laborers are engaged in the work of road construction in difficult and far-flung areas, so their safety should also be taken care of.

The Additional Director General of BRO said that the workers of the state of Jharkhand have been making valuable contributions since the beginning in the road construction work in the border areas of the country. Their works has always been appreciated by the BRO. The BRO has taken all appropriate steps for the safety, wages and welfare of the workers who are going for the road construction work in the border areas of the country.

During the meeting, Shri Rajiv Arun Ekka, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister-cum-Principal Secretary, Labor, Planning and Training Department was also present.
