First hike in six years: Tata Motors increases water supply charges, impacting employees financially.
Tata Motors has revised water charges for its Jamshedpur plant quarters, causing financial concerns among employees.
JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Motors has announced an increase in water supply charges for the company quarters provided to its employees at the Jamshedpur plant, marking the first revision in approximately six years since 2018.
This adjustment has raised concerns among the workforce about the additional financial burden it imposes.
A company circular detailed the new water charges, which came into effect on April 1. The revision has notably affected employees of Grade L6 and above, with substantial hikes in monthly water charges across various housing categories.
For employees residing in K-2, T, KL, and A-4 quarters, as well as N, K, and J flats, the water charge has risen from Rs 130 to Rs 200 per month. Similarly, the water charges for M and U type, L-4 quarters, and P flats have increased from Rs 220 to Rs 338, reflecting a significant impact on the employees’ monthly expenditures.
The adjustment in water rates for different types of accommodations, including bungalows and flats, highlights the broader financial implications for Tata Motors employees, prompting concerns over the added cost burden.
