Coronavirus kills 3 more on Friday, total death toll in city now 324

Jamshedpur: Reeling under continuous impact of coronavirus, the citizens of Jamshedpur got some relief from the scourge on Friday. The recovery rate has reached 84 pc for the first time in the district, while only 67 new positive cases were detected in the district. However, 3 more persons died even on Friday, taking the total number of deaths in the city to 324.

Corona is still taking a heavy toll on the people of Jamshedpur. It again took 3 lives on Friday, taking the total death toll to 324.

The good thing is that only 67 new patients were detected and the recovery rate has crossed 84 pc. Earlier, on August 30, 85 new patients were found. After that, for the next 32 days, the city detected on an average 224.45 new patients every day.

Although, Friday saw some relief in new cases, the number of total infections reached 14,062.

According to official data, 1,512 samples were tested in the district on Friday, out of which only 67 were positive.

On Friday, the positivity rate remained 4.4, which is far less than the average of 7 pc for the district till yesterday.

Among the new cases are included four employees of DC’s residential office, staff of a restaurant in Sakchi, seven staff members of two hotels of Golmuri, four members of a single family living in Vatika Green City and three members of a family living in Vijaya Greens.

Similarly 235 patients were also cured and discharged on Friday. The total recovery rate for the district has now reached 84 pc and till date 11,734 patients have recovered in the district.
