New players join the club in readiness for a longer season, owing to the addition of an extra team.
JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC has officially commenced their preseason in anticipation of the upcoming Hero Indian Super League (ISL) 2023-24 season.
Head Coach Scott Cooper, alongside Assistant Coaches Kiza Ramadani, Noel Wilson, and Goalkeeping Coach Dragan Draskovic, has bolstered the club’s squad with a number of fresh faces.
Head Coach Scott Cooper emphasized the detailed planning that went into the preseason, “We have meticulously prepared the preseason with a periodization strategy. Numerous staff and player meetings have been held to ensure unity, and we will gradually build up the squad for the first game as the season approaches.”
The newly assembled roster includes international arrivals Alen Stevanovic, Rei Tachikawa, Jeremy Manzorro, Elsinho, and Petar Sliskovic.
Additionally, Indian additions Wungngayam Muirang, Provat Lakra, and Imran Khan have also joined the team. From the ranks of Jamshedpur Youth teams and the esteemed Tata Football Academy (TFA), Phijam Vikash Singh, Vishal Yadav, Nikhil Barla, and Telem Saphaba Singh have been inducted into the squad.
The first team is set to play 6-8 friendlies in Jamshedpur against likely opponents such as Gokulam Kerala, Punjab FC, and NorthEast United, among others.
The squad will also travel to Hyderabad for two friendlies against Sreenidhi Deccan and Bengaluru FC.
With the inclusion of an additional team, this year’s Hero ISL season is expected to last longer. The tournament is currently scheduled to kick off in the third week of September.
