Jusco Shramik Union President Raghunath Pandey Returns from Global Conference

Jamshedpur – Jusco Shramik Union president and Intuc leader, Raghunath Pandey, was greeted enthusiastically as he returned home to Jamshedpur.

He had just attended a global conference of labor representatives held in Cape Town, South Africa.

This international gathering took place from June 20 to 22 at the Cape Town Convention Center. It attracted the participation of 600 labor representatives from diverse countries, with India being represented by six delegates.

Raghunath Pandey, in his role as not only the president of the Jusco labor union but also Secretary of the National INTUC, General Secretary of the Steel Metal Federation, and President of the JUSCO Shramik Union, addressed the conference.

In his speech, Pandey applauded Tata Steel’s initiatives, the only Indian company with a 40 percent female workforce and comprehensive employment policies that include transgender individuals. He expressed his pride in these endeavors and urged other labor representatives to campaign for similar practices in all firms, drawing inspiration from Tata Steel.

However, Pandey did not hold back when criticizing the Central Government of India. He condemned the implementation of the Four Labor Codes, claiming that they were wholly anti-labor. He contended that these laws have compromised the laborers’ interests and done away with their job assurances.

The homecoming of Raghunath Pandey was warmly celebrated by Amarnath Tiwari, Treasurer Gopal Jaiswal, E Satish Kumar, Umesh Rai, Tulsi Rao, HK Yadav, and other members of the Jusco labor union.
