Protest March From Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium to Albert Ekka Chowk Seeks CBI Probe

RANCHI – Job aspirants in the state capital have begun an open-ended sit-in over alleged irregularities in examinations conducted by the state’s two main recruitment bodies.
The agitation is directed at the Jharkhand Public Service Commission. It also targets the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission.
Moreover, the protesters took their case to the streets on Thursday evening. A march was taken out through central Ranchi.
The procession set off from Jaipal Singh Munda Stadium. It ended at Albert Ekka Chowk, one of the city’s busiest intersections.
Their principal demand is the scrapping of the 14th JPSC preliminary examination. They want the paper annulled outright.
Besides that, the aspirants have sought a central agency inquiry. They said the matter should go to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
The students have objected to the present arrangement. They said the state Criminal Investigation Department should not handle the case.
In addition, the demand extends beyond a single examination. The protesters want a CBI probe into every test conducted by the TDPL agency.
They said those who tampered with candidates’ futures must face action. Strict punishment for the guilty was pressed at the march.
On the other hand, the agitation is not confined to grievances. The aspirants have also demanded corruption-free examinations.
They want recruitment to follow in a clean process. Jobs should reach candidates on merit, they said.
Meanwhile, the satyagraha has been declared indefinite. No end date has been announced by the participants.
Similar student protests have been reported elsewhere in the state in recent years. Aspirants have earlier raised examination grievances through demonstrations.
Albert Ekka Chowk has long served as a focal point for such gatherings. Political outfits have staged street action in Ranchi in the past, while anti-corruption platforms have also drawn support in Jharkhand.
