Session Aims to Expand Sport Through School System in East Singhbhum

JAMSHEDPUR – Naval Tata Hockey Academy conducted a hockey introduction session for physical education teachers from government schools across East Singhbhum district.

The training programme took place on February 1 and 2. Hockey Jharkhand provided aegis for the initiative. Approximately twenty P.E. teachers participated in the session.

The programme focused on fundamental skills and basic techniques. Moreover, teachers learned the rules of the game thoroughly. Instructors provided practical knowledge to build confidence among participants.

The primary objective involves empowering physical education teachers significantly. Teachers will now introduce hockey in their respective schools. They can form school teams and prepare students systematically.

Students will participate in upcoming SGFI tournaments under guidance. CBSE school-level tournaments also feature in the preparation plans. However, structured programmes remain essential for competitive success.

This marks the beginning of grassroots development efforts statewide. The initiative aims to expand hockey’s reach significantly. Jamshedpur continues strengthening its hockey culture through such programmes.

Naval Tata Hockey Academy remains committed to promoting grassroots hockey. The academy envisions hosting various school-level tournaments soon. In addition, grassroots competitions will provide competitive exposure opportunities.

Young players will gain opportunities to grow professionally. The school education system serves as the primary channel. Meanwhile, district-wide participation receives systematic encouragement through training.
