Jharkhand’s Largest Ecological Park Ready in Chakulia

CM Hemant Soren to Inaugurate 195-Acre Park in October

Key Points:

  • Ecological park spans 78 hectares on Amalagora Road in Chakulia
  • Facilities include musical fountains, boating, gardens, and rest house
  • Project cost ₹23 crore; inauguration set for first week of October

JAMSHEDPUR – Chakulia in East Singhbhum is set to enter the tourism map with Jharkhand’s largest ecological park, now ready for inauguration.

The 78-hectare (195-acre) park on Amalagora Road will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the first week of October. Officials noted that no such large-scale and diverse park exists in Odisha, Bengal, or Bihar.

The facility includes four musical fountains, a boating club, Navgrah Park, a cactus garden, rose garden, medicinal plants, sandalwood forests, a large canteen, community hall, rest house, Shiv Kund, ancient statues, children’s park, and a senior citizen zone.

Construction was carried out under the supervision of Chakulia Ranger Digvijay Singh. The project cost about ₹23 crore. Senior forest officials, including PCCF and secretaries, inspected the site and praised the work.

Because of Chakulia’s location near the borders of Bengal and Odisha, officials expect steady tourist inflows throughout the year. The park is projected to serve as a hub for recreation, environment education, and religious tourism.

Forest Ranger Digvijay Singh said visitors would enjoy modern facilities while staying close to nature, adding, “Tourists will forget stress in the park’s greenery and grandeur.”
