Massive Fire at Amul Warehouse In Jamshedpur, Safety Concerns

Eight Fire Tenders Battle Blaze At Simuladanga Facility For Hours

Key Points:

  • Fire breaks out at Amul warehouse on NH 33 early Saturday
  • Owner claims damage exceeds Rs 10 crore from incident
  • Former district council member suspects conspiracy behind blaze

JAMSHEDPUR – A massive fire erupted at an Amul warehouse in Simuladanga on Saturday morning, causing extensive damage worth over Rs 10 crore according to the facility owner.

The fire broke out at the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Distribution Society Limited warehouse. The facility is located on NH 33 under MGM police station limits. However, firefighters struggled to contain the massive blaze for over four hours.

Eight fire tenders were deployed to combat the flames. Moreover, both Tata Steel and Jharkhand Fire Department vehicles joined the operation. The warehouse spreads across approximately one acre of land.

Deepak Khemka, the warehouse owner, reported significant financial losses. Meanwhile, sources claimed that damages were exceeding Rs 10 crore off the record. The facility stored Amul products for distribution across Kolhan region.

However, former district council member Pintu Datta raised ‘conspiracy’ concerns. He questioned the security arrangements at such a large facility. On the other hand, Datta demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.

The warehouse served as the primary distribution center for Amul products. Besides, it supplied dairy items throughout the entire Kolhan division. In addition, the facility operated under strict distribution protocols.

Fire department officials worked tirelessly to prevent spread to nearby areas. Moreover, traffic diversions were implemented on NH 33 during operations. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Local residents gathered to witness the massive firefighting operation. Furthermore, smoke clouds were visible from several kilometers away. The incident disrupted normal traffic movement on the highway.

Authorities are examining all possible angles behind the fire outbreak. In contrast, initial reports suggest no casualties were reported. However, the complete assessment of damages is still underway.
