MEDININAGAR – Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shashi Ranjan chaired a meeting with the Indian Red Cross Society officials on Wednesday at the district headquarters, reviewing ongoing welfare initiatives. He directed the society to intensify public welfare activities, especially for the underprivileged.
Strengthening Community Welfare
DC Ranjan emphasized that the core mission of the Red Cross Society is public service. He stressed the need to expand its initiatives to benefit the poor and helpless. Officials were instructed to organize health camps in remote villages, ensuring essential medical aid reaches indigenous tribes.
Expanding Healthcare and Blood Donation Drives
Highlighting the importance of strengthening blood banks, DC Ranjan suggested conducting frequent blood donation camps. He also directed the society to establish healthcare camps in tribal-dominated areas, ensuring better medical access.
Social Welfare Initiatives
To support economically weaker children, DC Ranjan recommended creating a book bank for distributing books and study materials. He also proposed launching a clothing bank to provide garments to the needy.
Planning and Policy Decisions
The Red Cross Society was instructed to develop a three-month action plan to streamline its activities. Additionally, DC Ranjan addressed officials’ requests regarding the revision of the “Moksha Yatra” vehicle fare and the establishment of a UPI payment system.
