• Police recover shell casing and arrest suspect with multiple firearms

• Incident reportedly stems from old dispute between involved parties

JAMSHEDPUR – A late-night shooting near the residence of Odisha Governor Raghubar Das has left a youth injured and led to the arrest of a suspect.

The incident occurred Sunday night near Agrico light signal in Sidhgora police station area.

Akash Singh, the victim, sustained a gunshot wound near his head during the attack.

Currently, Singh is receiving treatment at Tata Main Hospital (TMH).

Police recovered a shell casing from the scene, approximately 50 steps from the Governor’s residence.

In connection with the shooting, authorities have arrested a suspect possessing four pistols.

Akash Singh, who works as a driver for a BJP leader, identified the shooter to police.

He named Akshay Singh, son of former constable Kalika Singh, as the assailant.

Reportedly, the shooting stemmed from an old dispute between Akash and Akshay.

Following the incident, Akshay Singh fled the scene to evade arrest.

Moreover, Akshay’s brother, Rahul Singh, was allegedly involved in the altercation.

Interestingly, Rahul had previously been granted bail by the Jharkhand High Court.

Police conducted a raid on Akshay Singh’s residence following the shooting.

During the search, authorities recovered additional pistols from the premises.

However, exact details of the case are yet to be disclosed by law enforcement.

The conflict between Akash Singh and Akshay Singh appears to be the motive.

This incident has raised concerns about security in the vicinity of the Governor’s residence.
