Ranchi: Covid-19 seems to be unrelenting in Jharkhand as it has taken yet another toll in the state taking the total deaths to 11, while the number of total infected has reached 1919 on Thursday.
For now, the total active cases in the state is now 710. However, 47 persons were cured on Thursday itself. Till date 1198 persons have been cured and released from different hospitals.
11th death was caused in Jharkhand in Hazaribagh district. A corona patient died in the isolation ward of Hazaribagh Medical College Hospital on Wednesday. His positive report was received on Thursday and thus it was confirmed that his death was a result of Corona infection. This is the first death caused by Corona in Hazaribagh district.
Sources said that the deceased had returned with his two sons from Mumbai on June 14. He was a taxi driver in Mumbai. He was admitted in the isolation ward on June 15. He started having breathing difficulty on Wednesday suddenly and as a result died after some time.
On Wednesday, 9 positive cases were reported from Simdega, 4 from Garhwa, 2 each from Ranchi, Latehar and Gumla. A total of 23 new cases were reported.
