DAV Public School Bistupur Organizes Parent Orientation Program for Class XII

School Aims to Apprise Parents About Crucial Issues and Foster Teacher-Parent Bond

DAV Public School, Bistupur, recently organized a Parent Orientation Program for class XII students, with the objective of informing parents about important issues related to their wards appearing for the Class XII Board exams.

JAMSHEDPUR – The program provided an opportunity for parents to learn about the school’s activities and establish a strong connection with the teachers, recognizing that the school serves as a second home for their children.

Briefing Parents on Crucial Details

Ms. Mousumi Bhattacharjee, Senior Faculty Member and Coordinator of Senior Secondary Classes, briefed the parents about all the necessary details they need to be aware of during this critical year.

She shared various strategies parents can employ to help their children manage stress and motivate them to enhance their academic performance.

Additionally, she elaborated on different ways of nurturing a child with love and care to build a strong foundation for a successful future.

Overview of Subjects and Activities

Ms. Bhattacharjee provided an overview of the various subjects and activities that will be undertaken in the upcoming year.

She also gave a brief introduction to each subject, including the books, course content, and breakdown of marks.

Emphasis on DAV National Sports

Mr. S. K. Samanta, Senior PGT, enlightened the parents about DAV National Sports, which is certified and recognized by SGFI and the Ministry of Sports.

He emphasized the importance of creating awareness among students about professional etiquette and shared tips to enhance their skills and explore innovative ways to advance their careers.

Principal’s Address and Concerns

Mrs. Pragya Singh, Principal cum ARO DAV Public Schools, Jharkhand, Zone E, addressed the gathering and expressed her concern that many people, including parents and children, are quick to offer advice but slow to follow it.

She highlighted the issues arising from the choices made for students in class 11, with many being pressured into subjects that may not suit them, resulting in lower academic performance.

The Principal also raised concerns about the trend of enrolling children in coaching classes based on societal pressure rather than considering their individual capabilities.

She noted that there is a reliance on the belief that performance can be improved later, leading to leniency in assessments and promotions, which raises questions about the effectiveness of teaching methods and evaluation criteria.

The school administration urged parents to prioritize education quality over promotion quotas.

Sincere Effort by the School

The orientation program was a sincere effort made by the school to educate parents on how to properly guide and support their children.

It also helped in developing a common teaching strategy and provided parents with suitable follow-up methods to reinforce their children’s learning process.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Ms Pratibha Singh, PGT.
