JAMSHEDPUR – Team PSF marked its Foundation Day by reaching Koradkocha village in the remote forest region of Potka and distributing essential items to dozens of families living in difficult conditions.
The organisation visited the village on Sunday, November 30. However, the effort involved extensive preparation. The team aimed to support families from the Sabar community. A total of 34 families received aid during the drive.
Each family received a Happiness Pack containing sarees and dhotis. Moreover, the packs included snacks like bread, biscuits and bhuja. They also had juice, notebooks, pencils and erasers.
Two lists of supplies were prepared. One list covered dry ration materials with 20 essential items. The second list included medical and emergency items. These included a first-aid box, medicines and an electronic weighing machine per family.
Team PSF members reached the village with a 30-member group. However, they ensured that every household was greeted respectfully. A small celebration was held during the event. Villagers expressed gratitude after receiving the supplies.
The village head received a medical kit and additional medicines. However, the team advised residents not to use any medicine without proper medical consultation.
A local source said the distribution created visible relief among villagers. “People were happy to receive the items,” the source mentioned.
Arijit Sarkar, director of Team PSF, shared details of the initiative. He said earlier media reports had highlighted the hardships faced by Koradkocha residents. The organisation decided to adopt the village for long-term support.
He added that the BSSR Union Jamshedpur chapter also supported the programme. Moreover, the drive was dedicated to the organisation’s Foundation Day. It was also linked to Jharkhand Foundation Day. In addition, the team dedicated the mission to Guru Shibu Soren.
Team PSF carried out several earlier service programmes in the region. A previous Foundation Day event also focused on welfare. Meanwhile, a midnight blood donation effort was highlighted in a related report.
The group also supported volunteers during an SDP donation drive. Another service event involved community support as described earlier. Besides, a blood donation initiative hosted at the Tatanagar Railway Club also involved the organisation.
In addition, a historic donation achievement was covered recently. Moreover, a Tata Steel employee contributed to a women-centric programme as reported earlier. A milestone blood donation was also documented in another report.
