District Committee Demands Withdrawal of New Labour Codes Affecting Worker Rights

JAMSHEDPUR – East Singhbhum District Congress Committee organized protests against new labour legislation. Effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi were burnt. Labour Minister Mansukh Mandaviya was also targeted.
District President Parvinder Singh addressed the gathering. Senior labour leaders spoke about worker rights. They condemned the Modi government’s policies.
The Congress claimed workers cannot form unions now. Previously, seven employees could establish union recognition. However, the new law eliminates this provision.
Factory inspector powers have been severely reduced. Surprise factory inspections are no longer permitted. Congress previously protested against demolition notices through effigy burning.
Moreover, workplace safety inspections face restrictions now. Canteen facility monitoring has been curtailed significantly. Worker safety standards cannot be verified properly.
The protest highlighted feudal government policies. Congress workers earlier burnt Modi’s effigy over Parliament inauguration. Youth Congress protested Rahul Gandhi’s persecution similarly.
Workers’ protest rights have been modified drastically. Government permission is mandatory for demonstrations now. Previously, workers needed only advance notification.
Furthermore, the 12-hour workday rule threatens labourers. Congress leaders called it bonded labour practice. Worker health will deteriorate under extended shifts.
Another protest occurred at Sakchi over Gandhi’s disqualification. Workers burnt multiple BJP leaders’ effigies previously.
Senior Congress leaders attended the demonstration. Former District President Vijay Khan participated actively. Anand Bihari Dubey joined the protest march.
Dr. Paritosh Singh was present there. Riyazuddin Khan and Ansar Khan attended. Rajnish Singh also supported the agitation.
The Congress demanded immediate law withdrawal. Workers deserve constitutional protection, leaders stated. Labour rights must be restored completely.
