IIM Rohtak’s Pathfinders Win Growth Track with Record 11,400+ Student Participation

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel announced winners of Steel-a-thon’s 12th edition. The grand finale took place in Kolkata recently.
Team Pathfinders from IIM Rohtak emerged victorious. They won the Growth Track competition. Moreover, Team The Infallibles from IIFT Kolkata secured runner-up position.
XIM Bhubaneswar dominated the Value Chain Track. Team Metallica#3 claimed the winner’s spot. However, Team Refractories from the same institute finished second.
MDI Gurgaon’s The Steel Deal won People Track. IIM Ranchi’s Master at Management became runners-up. In addition, all finalists received career opportunities.
The competition witnessed record participation this year. Over 11,400 students from 34 B-Schools participated. Furthermore, the theme was “Redefining Tomorrow’s Steel.”
Three distinct tracks featured different business challenges. Growth track focused on “Orchestrating Growth” theme. Value Chain track emphasized “Nurturing Value Chain” aspects.
The People track centered on “Empowering Employees” concept. A total of 22 case studies were presented. Additionally, international case studies were included.
Tata Steel UK and Nederland cases were featured. Students engaged with global leadership through these. Meanwhile, 1,500+ teams submitted executive summaries initially.
Rigorous evaluation narrowed participants down to 180+ teams. Eventually, 18 teams reached the finale round. On the other hand, competition standards remained exceptionally high.
Peeyush Gupta led the distinguished jury panel. Prabhat Kumar and Zubin Palia also judged presentations. “This represents our commitment to nurturing future leaders,” Gupta said.
Winners received cash prizes worth Rs 2.5 lakh. Runners-up got Rs 1.5 lakh each. Furthermore, pre-placement offers were extended to top teams.
All national finalists received interview opportunities. Tata Steel continues supporting young talent development. Moreover, the company fosters innovative thinking among students.
The competition has completed 12 successful years. It provides real-life business challenge experience. In addition, mentorship from senior leadership benefits participants.
