CHAKRADHARPUR – A 24-year-old man died after his motorcycle hit a stone near Bhoya railway crossing in Khuntpani block on Sunday afternoon.

The accident occurred around 2:30 PM on Sunday. Viswanath Mundari was a resident of Dopai village. He was traveling with his relative Damu Tiyu.

The victim had gone to pick up his daughter. His wife Jema Kui works as a cook. She is employed at Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School in Khuntpani.

However, tragedy struck on their return journey. The motorcycle hit a stone lying on the road. Moreover, the vehicle became uncontrollable near the railway crossing.

Viswanath was traveling with his seven-year-old daughter Sakina. His companion Damu Tiyu was from Chhota Govindpur village. The group was returning to Dopai village.

The injured man was rushed to medical facilities. He was taken to Chakradharpur subdivision hospital. Nevertheless, doctors declared him dead after examination.

The accident site is near Bhoya railway crossing. This area falls under Khuntpani block jurisdiction. In addition, the location has witnessed several road accidents previously.

Damu Tiyu accompanied Viswanath on the fateful journey. Both men had reached the school together. They were bringing back Sakina from her mother’s workplace.

The stone obstruction proved fatal for the family. The motorcycle rider lost control instantly. Furthermore, the impact caused severe injuries to Viswanath.

Local residents have raised concerns about road safety in the area. The stretch near the railway crossing needs immediate attention. Besides, proper maintenance could prevent such tragic incidents.

The victim’s wife continues her duties at the residential school. She was unaware of the accident initially. On the other hand, the family now faces an uncertain future.

Medical staff at Chakradharpur hospital confirmed the death. The examination revealed fatal injuries from the fall. Meanwhile, authorities have been informed about the road accident.

The presence of stones on roads remains a persistent issue. Such obstructions create hazardous conditions for commuters. In contrast, regular cleaning could improve safety significantly.

This incident marks another traffic tragedy in the Chakradharpur region. The area requires better infrastructure and maintenance. Moreover, swift emergency response systems need strengthening.
