JAMSHEDPUR – The second phase training program for polling teams commenced on October 30 at Women’s University, Sidhgora, for the Ghatshila Assembly by-election 2025.

District Election Officer Karan Satyarthi is overseeing the training program. The initiative aims to ensure fair and peaceful conduct. On the first day, PO and P1 personnel received training. The second day focused on P2 and P3 staff.

Satyarthi addressed the trainees during the program. He emphasized that voting is democracy’s most important foundation. All personnel must discharge duties with complete dedication. Transparency must be maintained throughout the process.

“There is no room for carelessness on polling day,” he said. Every polling official must follow Election Commission guidelines strictly. He directed trainees to resolve all doubts during training itself.

The training included practical EVM and VVPAT sessions. Participants learned machine functioning through hands-on experience. Mock poll procedures were demonstrated in detail. Sealing and packing processes were also covered.

Trainees received comprehensive information about form filling. They learned proper sealing techniques for envelopes. The packing process was explained step by step. Moreover, PRO and ILMS app usage was taught.

The apps will facilitate reporting on polling day. They help in recording attendance efficiently. Communication tasks will become smoother through these tools.

Trainers highlighted common errors made by polling teams. Form filling mistakes were discussed extensively. Careless machine handling issues were addressed. Sequence errors during sealing were explained.

Preventive measures for these errors were emphasized. Post-voting procedures received special attention. Safe transportation to strong rooms was covered. The deposit process was explained in detail.

“Clear all doubts now, not on polling day,” advised an instructor. The training ensures every team member understands responsibilities. Comprehensive preparation will minimize errors during actual voting.

The program follows Election Commission’s standard protocols. All safety and security measures are included. Furthermore, emergency handling procedures were discussed.
