Tata Steel Announces 10th Jamshedpur Half Marathon

Event Scheduled for November 30 with Theme ‘Dil Se Daud for Jamshedpur’

JAMSHEDPUR – Tata Steel unveiled the 10th edition of its annual half marathon during a press conference on Tuesday. The event will take place on November 30.

D B Sundara Ramam, Vice President Corporate Services, attended as Chief Guest. He announced the theme and registration details. Moreover, he highlighted the marathon’s decade-long journey.

The 2025 edition carries the theme “Dil Se Daud for Jamshedpur”. It celebrates fitness, unity, and community spirit. The marathon has become a major sporting tradition.

Last year saw 4,821 participants from 18 states. However, organizers expect over 5,500 runners this time. The growing numbers reflect Jamshedpur’s wellness enthusiasm.

The half marathon category spans 21.097 kilometers. It debuted in 2024 with 500 runners. In addition, the 2025 edition anticipates higher participation.

Prize money totals Rs 9.18 lakh across categories. The route remains unchanged from previous years. Furthermore, safety measures will ensure smooth execution.

“The marathon symbolizes our city’s enduring spirit,” Ramam said. He emphasized both fitness and community pride. Besides, he noted it promotes heart health.

Ramam added another dimension to the theme. “It’s equally about ‘Dil ke liye Daud for Health,’” he stated. The event inspires holistic well-being among participants.

Tata Steel promotes active lifestyles through multiple initiatives. The company organizes Kolkata 25K annually. It also conducts Joda Run-a-thon and Kapilash Half Marathon.

Moreover, the company operates several sports academies. These cover football, archery, and athletics. Hockey and sport climbing facilities also exist.

The marathon welcomes runners from Jamshedpur and nearby areas. Supporters and volunteers can also participate. Every contribution strengthens the sporting culture.

The event has grown significantly over ten years. It started as a community initiative. On the other hand, it now attracts interstate participation.
