PATNA – In a major political development in Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Bharat Bind joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday. Popular folk singer Maithili Thakur also took BJP membership in the same event, signaling a boost for the party ahead of the upcoming elections.

The joining ceremony was led by Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal, who welcomed both new members into the party. He said that the BJP salutes the daughter of Mithila, Maithili Thakur, whose talent has made the entire country proud. He also added that both Thakur and Bind’s inclusion reflects the growing strength and credibility of the BJP in the state.

Jaiswal stated that the opposition has no issue left to raise during the elections. According to him, the National Democratic Alliance government has brought significant development to Bihar, and the party is ready to return to power on that foundation.

Meanwhile, the state BJP chief reiterated his earlier claim that several RJD legislators would soon join the BJP. He emphasized that the trend of leaders shifting to the BJP shows growing confidence in the party’s vision and leadership.

The event was marked by enthusiasm among party workers, who celebrated the induction of both the political leader and the cultural icon. Maithili Thakur, known for her powerful voice and devotion to Mithila’s folk traditions, expressed happiness at joining a party that, according to her, respects art, culture, and national unity.
