Meeting at JNAC Office Emphasizes Swachhata, PMAY, and Welfare Fair

JAMSHEDPUR – A review meeting of urban bodies was held at the JNAC office auditorium under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Karn Satyarthi.
The session focused on progress of urban development, sanitation, waste management, traffic, drainage, and civic amenities. Special emphasis was given to PMAY, AMRUT Mission, Swachh Bharat Mission, and Moharda water supply. The DC directed all bodies to complete targets by September 30, 2025, and submit regular progress reports for monitoring.
Moreover, detailed discussions were held on the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign and Lok Kalyan Mela. These will run from September 17 to October 2, 2025. Instructions included special cleaning drives, maintaining pandal hygiene, waste segregation at source, disposal of puja materials, and garbage collection through dedicated vehicles.
For the welfare fair, urban bodies were told to achieve PM SVANidhi targets by September 30. Sites must be earmarked for self-help groups to sell their products.
The DC stressed that cleanliness requires public participation. Schools, social institutions, puja committees, and citizens should be engaged. He added that transparency, timeliness, and quality must remain priorities in implementation.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Bhagirath Prasad, Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, officers from Mango, Chakulia, and Jugsalai municipal bodies, along with other officials, attended the meeting.
