Heavy Rain Causes Traffic Jam, Cars Swept Away Near Jugsalai Underpass

Local Residents Struggle to Rescue Vehicles From Waterlogging in Jamshedpur

Key Points:

  • Downpour led to severe waterlogging near Jugsalai underpass
  • One car swept away, another submerged in parking area
  • Locals worked hard to pull vehicles out of flooded stretch

JAMSHEDPUR – A heavy spell of rain on Wednesday afternoon crippled traffic and triggered waterlogging near Jugsalai underpass and Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk.

The road connecting the station to Bistupur was completely blocked due to flooding. Vehicles remained stranded as water levels rose sharply. Near the underpass, parked vehicles were swept away in the water flow.

Residents managed to rescue one car from the flooded spot after much effort. However, another Santro car submerged in the waterlogged parking area. Its owner, Sushil Kumar, said he had left the car briefly for personal work, but on return, found it drowned in the drain water.

Meanwhile, locals continued their attempts to salvage vehicles and restore traffic movement, though jam conditions persisted for hours.
