Raghubar Das Attacks Jharkhand Govt Over Law and Order

Former CM Alleges Mafia Syndicate Runs State Under Coalition Rule

Key Points:

  • Raghubar Das says mafia controls coal, stone, liquor, sand trades
  • Ex-CM alleges transfer postings are sold like hotel menu rates
  • He warns public of corruption, crime, and poor governance statewide

JAMSHEDPUR – Former chief minister and BJP leader Raghubar Das launched a sharp attack on the JMM-Congress-RJD coalition government, alleging collapse of law and order in Jharkhand.

Speaking at Jamshedpur Circuit House in Bistupur, he said mafia syndicates dominate coal, stone, liquor, and sand businesses and control the state. According to him, officials are politicized and transfer postings are auctioned. He compared it to hotels where rates are listed on menu cards.

Das said Jamshedpur, known as the state’s industrial capital, now suffers rampant crime. Traders live in fear as daylight loots and murders have become common. He questioned how entrepreneurs would invest when the industrial hub itself is unsafe.

He added that from Ranchi to Dumka and Hazaribagh, criminals spread terror. Traders, doctors, lawyers, and even journalists feel insecure. He cited an incident where a reporter investigating illegal coal mining was chased by mafia and later booked in a false case.

According to him, killings, lootings, and rapes occur daily while the government remains silent. “Governance works with authority, but this government has lost its credibility,” he remarked. He said that during his tenure, criminals feared the state, but today officials openly say they paid bribes to secure postings.

Das alleged that the present administration is focused only on corruption and commissions. He claimed public safety is ignored while money from mafia syndicates is prioritized.

On the role of the opposition, he said the BJP is playing a constructive role. He added that the party is ready to hit the streets if conditions do not improve and urged the public to stand for their rights under BJP leadership.

Regarding the upcoming Ghatshila bypoll, Das said voters there also suffer from the government’s failures. He stressed that Ghatshila, being near Jamshedpur, has witnessed the worsening law and order. He expressed confidence that people will deliver a strong mandate against the government.
