Couple Accused of Cheating Man With Promise of Telco Job

JAMSHEDPUR – A case of Rs 20 lakh fraud related to job placement has been registered at Golmuri police station. The complaint was filed after a man alleged he was cheated on the promise of a permanent job in Telco company.
According to police, the victim was identified as Gopal Krishna Singh, a resident of Namda Basti in Ghatshila’s Galudih. He alleged that accused Jagdamba Singh and his wife Vandana Devi of Cross Road No. 4 behind Telco Gulmohar School took the money.
The complainant told police that the couple claimed they arranged permanent jobs in Telco company. From January 1, 2023, to January 1, 2025, they allegedly took Rs 20 lakh from him in multiple installments.
When the promised deadline for employment passed, the victim demanded his money back. However, the couple allegedly failed to return the amount, prompting him to approach police.
Police officials said investigations have begun, and action will be taken against the accused once facts are verified.
