Two Arrested in Azadnagar Bag Snatching Case

Police Crack Case Using Bike Left at Crime Scene

JAMSHEDPUR – Police in Jamshedpur solved a bag snatching case in Azadnagar by tracking a motorcycle abandoned at the crime scene.

The incident occurred on Monday near Shahi Garden, Jawahar Nagar Road No. 12. Mohammad Anas, a resident of Zeenat Apartment, was robbed of a bag containing Rs 10,000.

On his complaint, a case was registered at Azadnagar police station. Police identified the accused after checking the motorcycle left behind.

According to officials, the bike was registered to Asif Ansari of Gaush Nagar, Kapali OP area under Chandil police station in Seraikela-Kharsawan. He was arrested soon after.

During interrogation, Asif revealed that his accomplice was Kalamuddin alias Kalam alias Saif, also from Gaush Nagar.

Meanwhile, police received a tip that Kalam was planning to flee to Odisha. A raid was conducted near Old Purulia Road No. 18, and he was caught.

Records show that Kalam had earlier been accused in Sakchi PS Case No. 114/19 under Sections 356, 379, 411, and 34 of IPC.

Police recovered items from the accused, which included:

  • One bag
  • Union Bank ATM card
  • IDBI Bank ATM card
  • A trainee job ID card
  • One PAN card
  • Rs 2,700 cash (Rs 2,200 + Rs 500)
  • Motorcycle used in crime (JH 05 DY 4225)

Both accused were sent to judicial custody.
