JAMSHEDPUR – A five-year-old tribal girl was sexually assaulted in Parsudih police station area, with allegations of police insensitivity emerging in the case handling.

Mohammad Sikandar Khan, minority district president of Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha, revealed the incident details. Ganpati Karuwa also provided information about the case. Moreover, the child’s family contacted JLKM leaders seeking assistance.

The assault took place on Friday afternoon around 2 PM. The family initially took the child to a doctor. However, the physician attributed her condition to weather-related illness.

The child’s mother questioned her daughter when she failed to recover. The girl then revealed shocking details about the incident. Furthermore, she identified S Hembram as the perpetrator who took her behind the house.

Family members immediately rushed to Parsudih police station. They submitted a written complaint to the authorities. However, police initially showed reluctance in registering the case.

JLKM leaders intervened when police delayed action. They pressured authorities to take the matter seriously. Moreover, their intervention led to police agreeing for medical examination.

Police have now registered the case officially. Investigations are proceeding with proper seriousness. Meanwhile, the medical examination has been arranged for the victim.

The incident highlights ongoing concerns about child safety. Tribal communities face particular vulnerabilities in remote areas. Additionally, police responsiveness remains a critical issue in such cases.

JLKM’s quick intervention proved crucial for case registration. Without their pressure, authorities might have continued delaying. Furthermore, their involvement ensured proper medical examination procedures.
